Services - English Skills

The British Council IELTS is used to measure English language skills. However, this is not always a requirement and employers may use other methods to test your English, i.e.:

· informal check while you are being interviewed
· telephone interview
· IELTS- geared to medical English

If you are selected for interview, we will advise the type of English language test that is likely to be used. If IELTS requires Band 7 average, with no part less than 6.5.

Improving your English language skills:

Although it may sound obvious, you should endeavour to improve your English language skills as much as possible prior to interview. The best ways are:
· English language medical journals
· English language books
· Regular English language conversations
· English language television programmes.
· English language courses

We are able to offer English language training courses that will help you improve your comprehension, written and spoken language skills. We can also help you with specialised medical English training courses that take place in England (usually for two weeks, full time). Please contact us for more details
